DEBERLUSCONIZER

Il DEberlusconiZER è un' applicazione che permette di riutilizzare lo spazio web occupato dalle immagini e dalle parole collegate al presidente del consiglio italiano.
Il software, sviluppato da un gruppo di artisti e programmatori, inizialmente sostituisce le parole e le immagini che si riferiscono al premier con delle bande colorate. Nella fase successiva, questi spazi vuoti lasceranno il posto a una serie di interventi di artisti italiani e stranieri. Gli artisti saranno invitati a riflettere su Internet come contesto pubblico e a immaginare un nuovo destino per questo "spazio liberato". Infine, saranno gli stessi utenti a decidere e proporre nuovi contenuti.
Il DEberlusconiZER interviene sul meccanismo di saturazione mediatica e culturale prodotta da uno dei personaggi più controversi della politica italiana e si appropria degli spazi a lui dedicati per veicolare contenuti nuovi.
Questa è però solo la prima delle possibili versioni del progetto de_zer, il cui codice è libero ed adattabile per modificare qualsiasi gruppo di parole presenti in rete, così come le immagini ad esse collegate.

The DEberlusconiZER is a web tool that replaces the images and words related to the Italian Prime Minister.
The first step of the project, developed by a group of artists and programmers, is to substitute words and images related to the Italian Prime Minister with coloured highlighting. In the next phase, these empty spaces will be filled up with a series of works by Italian and international artists. The artists will be asked to reflect upon the Internet as a public context, and to imagine a new fate for this "liberated space". Lastly, the users themselves will decide and propose new content.
The DEberlusconiZER subverts the media machine created by one of the most controversial figures in Italian politics by reclaiming the space devoted to him and using it for new porpuses.
However, this is only one of many possible versions of the de_zer project.The code is opensource and can be adapted to modify any online text or image.
